A popular Brazilian influencer has been found dead in mysterious circumstances after disappearing during a jet ski ride with friends.

Jaqueline Barbosa Nascimento,22,was found on Wednesday at the Jaguari dam in Igarata,in São Paulo,Brazil,after a three-day search.

She disappeared days earlier,but was identified by a relative when her body was recovered.

Now,the case has been registered as a suspicious death,and Jaqueline’s relatives say the two people with her on the jet ski gave ‘conflicting statements’.

Jaqueline had gone out with young people she had met at a party just weeks earlier.

Her longtime friend Gabrielle Reis told local media: ‘All our close friends pleaded with her not to go,since none of us could go along.

‘But she spent the whole week nagging us,saying,‘Come on,come on.’ In the end,she went anyway.’

Security camera images from a nearby residence are being analysed by the Civil Police.

Her body has been sent to the Forensic Medical Institute to determine the cause of death.

Jaqueline lived with her parents and younger sister in Parque de Taipas,in northern São Paulo,with friends remembering her as a ‘sweet and generous’ person.

Gabrielle added,‘She was always a very docile,loving girl,always considerate of others.

‘She was a good person,a good friend.’

In 2023,police in Brazil found another influencer dead in mysterious circumstances in her Brasilia home.

Rhayara Morais,34,was discovered lifeless in bed at her flat by a worried friend.

Rhayara,who had nearly 150,000 followers on Instagram and boasted of having half a million fans on TikTok,won a regional powerlifting title after taking up the sport.
